BILATERAL MEETING BETWEEN MINISTRY OF HEALTH
BRUNEI DARUSSALAM AND THE NATIONAL HEALTH AND FAMILY PLANNING COMMISSION, PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA

The Ministry of Health hosted an official delegation from the The National Health And Family Planning Commission, People's Republic of China (PRC) headed by His Excellency Mr Wang Hesheng, Vice Minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission, PRC for a bilateral meeting between the two ministries.
The Ministry of Health, led by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Zulkarnain bin Haji Hanafi, Minister of Health welcomed His Excellency and his delegation at the start of the bilateral meeting. During the meeting, several areas of cooperation including Plan of Action for both ministries, research and development on health technology, health care training, medical tourism, and Information Communication Technology (ICT) on health were discussed.
Also present at the meeting were Yang Mulia Dr Awang Hazri bin Haji Kifle, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy) Ministry of Health, Yang Mulia Datin Paduka Dr Hajah Maslina binti Hj Mohsin, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Professional) Ministry of Health and senior officials from the Ministry of Health.
Before the bilateral meeting, the delegation from PRC led by His Excellency Mr Wang Hesheng also conducted an official work visit to the several health facilities including the Women and Children Centre of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital, The Brunei Cancer Centre (TBCC), The Brunei Neuroscience, Stroke and Rehabilitation Centre (BNRSC), and the Berakas Health Centre.
In an interview with His Excellency Mr Wang Hesheng, he expressed his admiration on the conducive, well-equipped and high technology environment as well as health care system in all the facilities visited. He acknowledged in particular on the concept of client first and well-trained health care professionals within the Ministry.
From the visits, His Excellency Mr Wang Hesheng also mentioned his intention for The National Health And Family Planning Commission, People's Republic of China to continue the collaboration and cooperation with the Ministry of Health, Brunei Darussalam on several areas including sharing of knowledge and practices; equipment and training modules for health care professional; information technology; and medical scholarships programme. His Excellency further wishes to sustain further mutual visits between the two ministries, as well as strengthening active relations through the ASEAN Plus Three Cooperation, ASEAN-China Cooperation, and the Belt and Road Initiatives for Health Cooperation.
