The Drug Purchasing Section is under the Pharmaceutical Care Division, Department of Pharmaceutical Services which consists of 3 units namely
- Administration and Documentation Unit
- Purchasing Unit
- Market Intelligence Unit
The main objective of this section is to ensure sufficient and continuous supply of drug products at acceptable/reasonable cost, of good and safe quality for health institutions under the Ministry of Health (MoH). The drugs purchased are based on those listed in the National Standard Drug List (NSDL) and those approved on Named Patient Basis (NPB).
Other functions include:
- Provide technical expertise to the State Medical Store in terms of storage of pharmaceutical products and other related matters
Prepare a Price List Booklet annually to end-users in Dispensary Services
