JOB DESCRIPTION
We use our specialist skill and knowledge to develop, co0ordinate, implement and enforce public health policies. We work to ensure that people have a better quality of life and live within a healthier society.


Task and Responsibilities include:

  • To carry out and be responsible for the environmental health activities.
  • To supervise and make assessment and evaluate environmental health investigation and follow up activities.
  • Responsible to report all the action taken;
  • Assist in out break managements and generating reports;
  • Involved in training of inspectorate staff.

Public Health Officers can deal with a wide range of function such as air pollution control, food safety, noise control, occupational health and safety, monitoring of drinking and bathing water, environmental assessment, waste management and infectious diseases.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Citizen of His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam
  • Have knowledge on the Islamic Principle, culture and tradition of Brunei Malay including knowing the social and economic development and politics of Brunei Darussalam.
  • Having degree (B. Sc.) in the field of “Environmental Health’’ or pass similar qualification recognized by the government of His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam.
  • Having any other higher qualification in the field is an advantage.
  • Capable and effective to communicate in Malay and English both written and spoken is an advantage.

Acceptance onto the V. Sc. In the field of “Environmental Health’’ you need 3 subject in GCE ‘A’ Level or equivalent.

The course will take three (3) or four (4) years full-time at the universities or higher institutes abroad such as United Kingdom, Australia, Singapore and Malaysia.

You are also given the opportunity to undertake Postgraduate Diploma, Master Degree and Ph. D. such as in Public Health, Environmental Health/ Law air Pollution Management and Control, Food Safety Management / Food Safety Control, Occupational Health and Safety Management.
