Independence in skills of life
Occupational Therapy is a profession concerned with promoting health and as well being through occupation. The primary goal of Occupational Therapy is to enable people to participate in the activities of everyday life. Occupational Therapist achieve this outcome by enabling people to do things that will enhance their ability to participate or by modifying the environment to better support participation.

Occupational Therapist have broad education that equips them with skills and knowledge to work collaboratively with individuals or groups of people who have an impairment of body structure or function due to health condition, and who experience barriers to participation. Occupational Therapy is practiced in a wide range of settings whereby clients are actively involved in the therapeutic process, and outcomes of Occupational Therapy are diverse, client-driven and measured in terms of participation or satisfaction derived from participation.

Services Offered
Our highly and dedicated professionals are committed to serve the clients with disabilities and special needs. We provide the following core services:

  • Clinical baseline assessment to determine current abilities in order to plan, implement and evaluate our therapy programs for the clients in a wide variety of health care settings.

  • Individualized therapy program on a one-to-one treatment where our therapist provide the real benefits of their hands-on talents expertise.

  • Ongoing assessment as an evaluation to determine the progress of clients’ rehabilitation.

  • Home assessment and report prior to client’s discharge and follow-up visits.

  • Follow-up reviews on discharged cases

  • Worksite assessment and injury prevention with employers in the clients’ employment needs

  • Provision of advice cum details on health care equipment or product for patients with disabilities and information of where to get \ them

  • Provision of selected low cost equipment for clients who cannot afford expensive health care products.

Is Occupational Therapy the career for you?
Do you like to help people and solve problems? Do you want to improve the quality of life foe others? Is so, then occupational Therapy may be the right career for you! Any prospective students can opt for a bachelor Degree course in Occupational Therapy (usually 3 or 4 years, full time). The entry requirements will vary from institutions to institutions but most will require the following:

  • 5 GCSE / GCE ‘O’ Level passes at grade A to C including English Language, Mathematics and one Science subjects, preferably Biology. 

    AND
     

  • 2 to 3 GCE ‘A’ Level passes at grade C or better including biology or Sociology

Courses are offered in major parts of the world especially in UK, Australia and USA.

Career Development Opportunities
With the constant advancement in the science and medical world, you will be encouraged to enhance your clinical reasoning through evidence based practice. Once you are qualified as an Occupational Therapist with working experience in related field, you can enroll in further studies to obtain higher qualifications such as Postgraduate diplomas (PgDip), Masters Degree (MSc) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
