The spirit of Ramadhan is about giving and caring to the way demanded by Allah SWT. This is the month in which we can make an extra special effort to come together to care for those in need and to contribute to a good cause. Thus, in true spirit of the holy month of Ramadhan, GHK MOTORS SDN BHD is donating two units of Mitsubishi L200 Pick-up trucks to the Ministry of Health in a ceremony today, 11 October 2007 at the Ministry of Health, Commonwealth Drive.

The Managing Director Goh Hock Kee Motors Sdn Bhd, Yang Berhormat Pehin Kapitan Lela Diraja Dato Paduka Goh King Chin hands over a mock key to the Minister of Health, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman.

The ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Health, Yang DiMuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Laila Diraja Dato Paduka Haji Awang Hazair bin Haji Abduallah and senior officers from both the Ministry of Health and Goh Hock Kee MOTORS SDN BHD.

The Mitsubishi L200 Pick-up has 2500cc diesel engine and the total cost for the two units is around B$50,000. The two vehicles will be given to the Vector Control Unit of the Environmental Health Services to improve their operational services to the public, including the rural areas of Kuala Belait and Tutong. These vehicles will be able to support various activities including entomology surveillance and spraying operations. These activities are essential in the identification of the types of mosquitoes in the country, its density level, identification of breeding sites, as well as the monitoring and effectiveness of the vector control interventions.

The Minister of Health expresses his gratitude to Yang Berhormat Pehin Goh for his generosity in making the contribution to the Ministry of Health in its continuous effort to provide medical and health services to the public.
