Walkers Snack Foods Ltd telah membuat penarikan
balik ke atas produk kerepek kentang (Crisps)
berjenama Walkers yang berkemungkinan dicemari
dengan gelang getah kuning.
Produk yang terbabit adalah Kerepek Kentang
Walkers (Walkers Crisps) dan Kerepek Besar
Walkers (Walkers Max) dengan bermacam perisa dan
mempunyai tanda tarikh baik sebelum 15 Mac 2008
dan 22 Mac 2008 seperti berikut :

Sebagai langkah berjaga-jaga, Kementerian Kesihatan juga
membuat pemeriksaan di pasar-pasar raya bagi
mempastikan produk-produk tersebut tidak ada di
pasaran dan tidak diimpot ke negara ini.
Sehubungan dengan itu, Kementerian Kesihatan
menasihatkan supaya :

Para pengimpot dan peniaga menarik balik
produk-produk terbabit (jika ada) dari
pasaran dan menyerahkannya ke Bahagian
Kawalan Kualiti dan Keselamatan Makanan,
Jabatan Perkhidmatan Kesihatan atau
Pejabat-Pejabat Kesihatan di daerah-daerah
untuk dimusnahkan; dan
-
Para pengguna yang memiliki produk-produk
terbabit untuk mengembalikan (jika ada) ke
kedai-kedai di mana produk tersebut dibeli
atau menyerahkannya ke Bahagian Kawalan
Kualiti dan Keselamatan Makanan, Jabatan
Perkhidmatan Kesihatan atau Pejabat-Pejabat
Kesihatan di daerah-daerah
Kementerian juga ingin memaklumkan sepertimana
yang diperuntukkan di bawah Bab 9 ceraian (1)
sub-perenggan (i) Akta (Kesihatan Awam)
(Makanan), (Penggal 182) sesiapa yang
menyediakan, menjual atau mengimpot makanan yang
boleh memudaratkan kesihatan boleh dipenjara
selama 5 tahun atau suatu denda atau
kedua-duanya sekali.

The Ministry of Health wishes to inform the public that
Walkers Snacks Foods Ltd has announced a recall
of some date codes of Walkers Crisps because the
products may contain pieces of yellow rubber.
Products affected are Walkers Crisps and Walkers
Max of different flavours and packaging with
best before dates of 15 March 2008 and 22 March
2008 as described below:

As a precautionary measure, the Ministry of Health would
conduct inspection at supermarkets to ensure
these products are not sold in the markets and
imported into the country.
In accordance, the Ministry of Health would like to advise
on:
-
Importers and retailers to recall on the
affected products (if any) from markets and
surrender them to Food Safety and Quality
Control Division, Department of Health
Services or Health Offices at any districts
to be destroyed; and

Consumers who have bought the said products
(if any) to return them to the respective
supermarkets or surrender them to Food
Safety and Quality Control Division,
Department of Health Services or Health
Offices at any districts
The Ministry would like to remind the public that it is an
offence under Section 9(1) – (i) Public Health
(Food Act), (Chapter 182) to any person who
prepares, sells or imports any food that is
injurious to health, and the penalty for such
offence, upon conviction is imprisonment for 5
years or a fine or both.
