The Ministry of
Health, Brunei Darussalam wishes to inform the
public that based on the report from the US Food
and Drugs Administration (FDA), the following ‘Hydroxycut’
weight loss supplements have been found to be
associated with a number of healthrelated risks.

The products
contain a variety of ingredients and herbal
extracts. The products were recalled following
reports of liver problems ranging from jaundice
to damage that requires a liver transplant,
seizures, cardiovascular disorders,
rhabdomyolysis and one death associated with its
use has also been reported.
As such, these products are not allowed to be
imported and sold in the country. Retailers,
importers and alike are advised to stop
importing and selling the products. Consumers
who have been taking the recalled products are
advised to stop taking them immediately and to
discard them or surrender them to the Pharmacy
Enforcement Section, Block 2G, 8th Floor, BSB HC
in Jalan Ong Sum Ping, Bandar Seri Begawan. If
they experience any adverse reactions or feel
unwell, they should consult their doctors
immediately.
