Roles and Functions:
|
- Implement drug policies endorsed by the
ministry and department and any other related
policies to drugs;
- Ensure regulatory control of pharmaceuticals
are in accordance to Poisons Act, Misuse of Drug
Regulations and other relevant Acts;
- Human resource management within the
department’s scope;
- Expand the scope and upgrade the standards
of the department inline with current needs and
capability;
- Propose new policies and guidelines related
to services rendered by the department;
- Manage and control the distribution of
Pharmaceuticals in the public sector;
- Contribute as member of various committees
in the Ministry of Health such as the
Sub-Committee of Finance and Quotations and the
Drug Advisory Committee;
- Facilitate the Pharmacy Management Meeting
and other committee meetings held within the
department.
