ADMINISTRATION of the COVID-19 vaccine under the national vaccination programme

LATEST INFORMATION ON THE ADMINISTRATION

OF THE COVID-19 VACCINE UNDER THE NATIONAL

VACCINATION PROGRAMME

1.             Following the Ministry of Health's press conference on the temporary postponement on the administration of the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine commencing on Wednesday, 1 September 2021 until a date that will be announced later, the Ministry of Health would like to inform the public, especially individuals who have reserved a vaccination slot for the first dose that they are not required to cancel their slots or make a new reservation because their vaccination slot will be automatically shifted and they will be given priority when the new vaccine supply arrives.

2.            The public is advised to check the status of their vaccination booking via the BruHealth app from time to time to confirm the date of the new appointment. As an example; Person A has booked a vaccination slot for the first dose before the announcement on 31 August 2021, and his original vaccination appointment is on 1st September 2021. However, Person A's appointment will be postponed to a date that will be informed later. If the vaccine supply arrives safely in Brunei Darussalam on the morning of 15 September 2021, this means that the appointment date for Person A will be changed automatically in the BruHealth app to 16 September 2021.

3.            Meanwhile, for those who have received a slot booking for a second dose vaccination injection are also advised to check their vaccination slot booking through the BruHealth app in the event of a date change, for instance, the date has been brought forward from the original schedule. As an example; Person B was given an appointment date for the second dose on 4 September 2021. However, Person B's appointment date has been brought forward to 2 September 2021 in the BruHealth app. This means that the date of Person B's appointment has changed, and Person B will be required to attend the new vaccination appointment on 2 September 2021.

4.            The Ministry of Health is currently working to get the supply of vaccines as soon as possible and will inform the public once the vaccine supply has safely arrived in Brunei Darussalam.

5.            However, as previously stated, the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine will still and only be provided to the elderly, differently-abled, and pregnant women where they can get the first dose injections from any vaccination centres on a walk-in basis. The conditions for the administration of the vaccines via walk-in are as follow:
