178 new cases COVID-19 reported today, 20 April 2022

MEDIA STATEMENT

ON THE CURRENT SITUATION OF COVID-19

IN BRUNEI DARUSSALAM

18 Ramadhan 1443 / 20 April 2022

 

1.          Today, Wednesday, 18 Ramadhan 1443 / 20 April 2022, a total of 178 new cases have been reported, i.e. 166 cases were results from ART tests and 12 cases were results of 567 RT-PCR laboratory tests performed in the past 24 hours. Therefore, the total number of cases reported in Brunei Darussalam to date is 140,542 cases. The other daily statistics of COVID-19 are as follows:

  1. There is one case categorised in Category 5 which are those who require treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Whereas, two cases are currently in Category 4 which are those who require oxygen assistance and under close monitoring.
  2. A total of 110 cases have recovered, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 139,297 cases.
  3. The total number of active cases are 1,027 cases, i.e. 31 cases are currently treated in hospitals, whereas 996 cases are currently undergoing home self-isolation.

     

2.          As all vaccination centres did not operate yesterday, the latest statistics on the vaccination programme remain as stated in yesterday's Press Conference i.e. 28.6% of children in the age group of 5 to 11 years old have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination while 63.1% of the citizens and residents of the country have received three doses of the vaccine.

 

3.          Let us seek forgiveness and guidance from Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala and continue to pray that Brunei Darussalam and all its citizens and residents will always be given health. Aamiin Aaminn Ya Rabbalalamin. Ramadhan Kareem.
