Dengue symptoms include fever, headaches, skin rashes, muscle and joint pain and eye pain. A person infected with dengue may also suffer from much severe symptoms such as stomach pains, nausea and vomiting and blood clotting problems.

The Ministry of Health wishes to advice the public to take the following steps below:

I. Check and keep the environment around your house clean to ensure that there are no places where water can be collected so mosquitos cannot breed.

II. Destroying places where mosquitos could breed by removing materials that have been collecting water, cleaning the materials and destroying all traces of mosquito larvae/eggs. Mosquito larvae/eggs can survive in a dry place without water for up to 6 months and as soon as they are exposed to water, they eggs can hatch within 7 days.

III. Remember to take out and dispose of trash (especially those which could collect water) as often as you can.

IV. Always keep the environment clean

V. To immediately seek medical attention at the nearest Health Centres or Health Clinics if you show symptoms as mentioned above.
