Career as a Pharmacist

Minimum Entry Requirements

The entry requirements will vary for each university in different countries but most will typically require the following:

3 GCE A-Level or equivalent with a minimum grade B (including two science subjects preferably Chemistry and Biology)


Training Programs

United Kingdom: Master of Pharmacy Degree (Mpharm) - 4 years course full-time and 1 year Pre-Registration training beforeregistration with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (RPSGB).


Career Prospects and Development

Pre-Registration for 1 year at the hospitals, health centres or private sectors and passed in Pre-Registrationtest before registered as Pharmacist. You can pursue further development in the relevant field such as Postgraduate Master degree and Doctorate degree. A Pharmacist can work in different divisions in the area of Pharmaceutical Care and Pharmacy Regulatory such as Hospital Pharmacy Services, Community Pharmacy Services, Drug Registration, Pharmacy Enforcement Section and others including clinical/scientific researching, case studies and clinical management. There are opportunities to work in assistant roles within pharmacy as supporting staff. They assist Pharmacist in their day-to-day work:

  • Assistant Dispenser
  • Medicine Inspector
